What you heard is true. At Tourch drivers have the option to retain 100% of all ride earnings. We make money by charging drivers a flat monthly fee of $299. You pay only after you earn – provided you complete at least 100 rides the previous month. We spoke to nearly 1000 drivers before launching Tourch, and the overwhelming majority mentioned that they enjoy the flexibility of driving as their schedule allows. But what drivers enjoy even more is the ability to make enough money to support their families.
Drivers who do not wish to pay a monthly fee can pay a flat 10% commission fee and Just Drive. That covers our relationship with drivers. Those two options alone can add up to nearly $1800 more per month for drivers. So rather than talk about how much drivers mean to us, we wish to show drivers how much they mean to us by rewarding them. Drivers are responsible for their insurance costs.
Some drivers prefer the open roads between cities, the serene drive with just one or two passengers per day. For those drivers, our Tourch Cities option will permit them to take passengers out of town to other cities. We commit to finding you a return trip, so you are not forced to drive an empty car back. If we cannot match you with a passenger on your ride back, we will pay you a flat Empty Car Fee of $30.
The women we spoke with mentioned the fear of being assaulted by unruly passengers. In response, we created the Female-Female option allowing drivers to accept only female passengers. We are committed to the safety of all passengers and drivers. Our robust Safety Center also contains the option to enter a password before each ride to confirm that riders and drivers have confirmed each other’s identity.
Upon Launch, we will let drivers cash out their earnings weekly. Eventually we will allow daily cash outs to reward loyal drivers. We understand that drivers will use multiple apps to maximize their earnings. Our commitment is that on Tourch drivers will be able to build a business by letting passengers select their favorite drivers and vice versa. You are free to keep in Tourch with your favorite riders and let them schedule rides with you up to 90 days in advance. If you drop a passenger at the airport, you will have the flexibility to schedule a pickup when they return.
We will also highlight the best drivers on our platform so that passengers can experience their service and vehicles. We believe that the best way to incentivize great service is to reward it so our top-rated drivers will receive weekly and monthly rewards.
We understand that not all rides will be enjoyable. All drivers will be assigned a customer service agent to act as their dedicated concierge assistant – essentially a copilot. Your copilot will assist with complaints, tech support and earning tips. Tired of cancellations without explanations? On Tourch you will have the ability to appeal; you will have the option to make your case and submit evidence to your co-pilot. At Tourch, we mean business when we say drivers come first.
